“What about my name?”
“No glamour. Bette Davis. Ugh!”
“It is spelled with en e - instead of a y. That´s unusual!”
“Doesn´t have appeal, Picture names have to excite the public - intrige ´em. Bette Davis! It´s a great name for a secretary.”
So were were back to that, where we?
“And what,” I asked, having no intention of changing mine ever, “would you consider a name full of excitement and intrigue?”
“We´ve given a lot of thought to it and we´ve come up with the perfect name for you. It´s a natural. Bettina Dawes.”
”Bettina Dawes! I refuse to be called “Between the Drawers all my life!” They did laugh and skip any more discussions about changing my name.”
